Do I need to leave my ballet school to be in the Company at Pas de Vie Ballet?
No! The Junior Company rehearses on the weekends leading up to the Nutcracker, so you can stay enrolled in classes during the week at your ballet school. The Advanced Company rehearses on Wednesday evenings and the weekends. Pas de Vie Ballet offers classes throughout the week for all levels of dance, as well as free boys classes on Saturday mornings.
How much are the company fees?
Fees are $250 for the Junior Company and $375 for the Advanced Company, which can be paid in installments.
This fee includes all rehearsals leading up to Nutcracker. It also includes the use of all costumes and a company t-shirt. Dancers will receive instruction on how to do makeup and hair for the performance. The Advanced Company fees include all rehearsals for Spotlight on Dance in the Spring of 2025.
What do I need to purchase for the Nutcracker performance?
Junior Company girls will need a nude colored leotard and boys will need a white shirt to wear underneath their costumes. All dancers will need to purchase tights and shoes in the colors specified by their specific roles. Dancers will also receive a list of makeup they will need for the show.
Where do the Nutcracker rehearsals take place?
Rehearsals for both companies take place at the studio. The Junior Company always meets on Friday nights, and some roles practice on Saturday afternoons. Some dancers might be involved on Sunday afternoons as well. Advanced Company will usually rehearse on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. The week of the Nutcracker, dancers will rehearse each evening at the theater (Lee Hall Auditorium).
